The Wedding Vows
… created by Mark and Lynn

“Lynn, you are my beloved and I am yours. Today. I make a covenant before God and before these people to take you to be my one and only wife. My first calling is to honour you as my nearest neighbour – loving you as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. In spite of our weaknesses and no matter what I learn about you, my love for you and commitment to you will not change. My privilege is to know you and my promise is to withhold nothing of my personhood from you. that together we may attain enduring intimacy until God shall separate us by death.”

“Mark, you are my dearest friend. God has brought us together and is building us into a loving household where He can dwell. In joyful affirmation of this, before God and his congregation. I take you to be my one and only husband. Out of reverence for Christ. I will submit to you in all things, serving your interests and needs with a humble, willing heart. With God’s help. I will love, respect, and cherish you and be with you wherever the Lord leads us. I promise to be honest and unashamed, to share my whole life with you. No matter what I learn about you and no matter what difficulties come. I will remain faithful to you in my love and commitment. To this I pledge myself, until God separates us by death.”
