Jesus said “Without me you can do nothing.” And as I respond to the request to let you know what I have been doing on your behalf I would ask that you do not read this without a prayer also going up that God would use me and the Renewal Fellowship in all these activities for the praise of his glory and the renewing of his Church.

Since being called to the office of Director four months ago I have preached on renewal in four congregations in Kootenay Presbytery in B.C.; in Westwood, Winnipeg; in St. Andrew’s, Islington; Rexdale; Pineridge; Wychwood-Davenport in the Toronto area; at St. David’s Campbellville and Nassagaweya; at St. Andrew’s, Parry Sound; at St. Andrew’s, Hespeler and in the Ottawa area at Gloucester and Parkwood (Nepean) as well as sharing about our work and mission at Bridlewood Presbyterian Church, Scarborough.

I have been invited to preach in the coming months at Alma St., St. Thomas; Knox, Spadina; the West Toronto Men’s Breakfast; St. Andrew’s, Humber Heights; Nobleton and other places still be be confirmed.

I have led or participated in Renewal days in Toronto with Dr. Leith Anderson dealing with the Church for the 21st Century; in Moncton, New Brunswick at which a good representation of the Maritimes had gathered to reflect on the marks of Renewal, at Grace Church, Orleans (Ottawa area) dealing with the topic of Healing and Deliverance and at an evening with Dr. Jeremy Begbie held at Wexford Presbyterian Church dealing with Music and Worship.

The next Renewal Day is planned for Saturday, November 4 at St. Enoch’s Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, Ontario on the theme of Small Groups.

The Issues Committee, in which I participate, led by Dr. Garth Wilson is currently working on a theological and pastoral paper on the Toronto Blessing and The Reformed View of Revival.

I am also investigating with youth leaders how the Renewal Fellowship can minister effectively to and with young people.

My work also involves keeping in touch with the National Office of our church to encourage co-operation in Renewal and exchange of views on emerging issues and I believe meaningful contacts are being established.

One of the most important works for which I especially ask your intense prayer is the establishment of Regional Renewal Task Forces which will bring the encouragement and networking resources closer to every part of the country.
