Carolyn was born and raised in a non-Christian home in Parry Sound, Ontario. At the age of 14, Carolyn “went to the Mercy Seat” in the community of the local Salvation Army. From the age of twelve, Carolyn has made huge contributions in the area of children’s ministries. She has taught Sunday School for 30 years, and most recently served as Sunday School Superintendent at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, Parry Sound.

Carolyn is a single mother of three young adult children, two of whom have special needs. Her eldest son recently was married so she is now a proud mother-in-law as well. For several years, Carolyn has nurtured a parenting program in Parry Sound and is now employed as a “Drop-In Facilitator” working with families.

Geoff Wood

Geoff grew up in Brantford, Ontario and attended an evangelical Brethren church. He made a decision for Christ as a child, which he renewed while attending McMaster University. He studied psychology and biology before beginning work in the high tech industry.

Geoff has worked in the software field for 25 years with IBM, J.D. Edwards, and others. He and his wife, Linda, now own their own software business that develops training software for corporations. They provide their services free of charge to Christian organizations for the training of pastors and lay leaders – as a vehicle to further the gospel. In his “real” job, Geoff is National Sales Director of Management Solutions with Deloitte.

Geoff and Linda both served as elders at Trinity Presbyterian in Toronto, where they attended for several years. Geoff has also served as Convenor of Christian Education and adult Bible class teacher. Currently, Geoff and his family attend Fraser Presbyterian in Tottenham, where he recently became an elder.

Bill BoycottBill Boycott

Bill was born in Windsor into a Christian home. His family attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church which became the hub of their family and individual activity. Bill says that he can’t remember a time when he didn’t see Christ as the central influence in his life, and he has often envied those who can identify a specific time and place when they became a Christian.

He attended college and university in the States, graduating with theology and chemistry degrees. He worked for a U.S. chemical company as a research chemist for sixteen years and lived in Detroit before returning to Canada in the late ’60s. Since then he has worked with pharmaceutical companies, including a six-year term as District Manager for Atlantic Canada in Dartmouth, N.S. Bill retired from full-time paid employment in 1997 and he and his wife (of 42 years) moved to their present home in Goderich, Ontario.

On return to Canada Bill found St. Andrew’s Church, Puce (now Lakeshore St. Andrew’s Presbyterian). He is a session member there and played a significant role as coordinator of volunteers during their major building project in 1997 to build a new 35,000 sq.ft. church. He believes the Presbyterian Church is uniquely positioned to appeal to a broad base of unchurched Canadians that other denominations simply won’t appeal to, but we have to get our act together first. He prays that Renewal Fellowship can play a major role in this.
