Some Motions that will be considered at the Annual Meeting to be held at Bridlewood Presbyterian Church, Scarborough, Ontario, March 9, 1996.
Re: Relationship with another Renewal Group
Motion that we pursue a closer relationship with Presbyterian and Reformed Renewal Ministries International (P.R.R.M.I) through working together with them on mutual programs and especially Prayer Mountains, Dunamis (leadership training) and the Spirit Alive Program with the understanding that in the future Memorandum of Understanding may formalize the relationship.
Re: Seeking Formal Recognition as an Official Autonomous Organization within the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
A proposed Memorial (and Overture)
Whereas the Renewal Fellowship consists of members and adherents within the Presbyterian Church in Canada and,
whereas they draw encouragement and support for sendee to Jesus Christ through the Fellowship and,
whereas in working co-operatively with Boards, Committees and other agencies and Courts of the Church the work of the renewal of the church is aided and,
whereas the Renewal Fellowship in the person of its Executive Directors have been invited to sit and correspond at many Courts and assist them in doing workshops and other training events and,
whereas we have been given permission to organize and hold prayer meetings at General Assemblies that have been well attended and much appreciated but because we are “official” have not been allowed to have displays of our Fellowship material along with the “Official” agencies and Societies of the Church and,
whereas precedents for for autonomous organizations within the church exist in the form of the Atlantic Mission Society and the Women’s Missionary Society, (WD.) who report to the Assembly because of their special focus.
We are undersigned do hereby memorialize the General Assembly to recognize us as an official autonomous Organization within the Presbyterian Church in Canada and permit us to report Annually to the General Assembly on the work of Renewal within our Denomination.
